WAIT, WHAT: Are we really going to act like Biden didn’t say what he said?

CNN hosted a “special” Biden-Harris Interview on Thursday night. I haven’t been able to watch it all, but did catch bits and pieces.

And one piece is rather significant and, somehow, went unseized upon by Jake Tapper.

Biden was talking about any potential disagreement he might have with Kamala Harris should the two serve together in the White House.

Now, seconds before Biden delivered this quote, he quipped, “all kidding aside.”

So, assuming all kidding was put aside, I took this statement seriously.

“Like I told Barack, if I reach something where there’s a fundamental disagreement we have based on a moral principle, I’ll, uh, I’ll I’ll I’ll I’ll I’ll develop some disease and say I have to resign.”

Tapper didn’t point it out or pose any sort of follow up.

How does that happen?

First, how many times did Biden stammer “I’ll, I’ll, I’ll, I’ll, I’ll” and what does it mean that he did?

Second, if all kidding were indeed put aside, did the possible next President of the United States of America really just say if he has a disagreement with his vice president he will develop some disease and say he has to resign?

And are we really going to act like it wasn’t said?

I am no CNN anchor, but even with my little ole journalism degree from Grand View, I know that when someone says something you do not comprehend, you ask for clarification.

Even if Tapper comprehends what Biden meant by saying he’ll develop a disease and say he has to resign, is that not newsworthy. To simply brush over it as though it didn’t happen and move on to ask about the NAACP, I mean, that is journalism malpractice.

Without intending to be rude, I fully expected Biden to serve two years of his presidency, should he win the electoral college.

But I’m starting to think the smart bet on that is the under.
