West Texas seeing illegal immigrant numbers never before seen according to 12-year veteran officer

West Texas is usually the quietest area of the state for illegal immigration, but the Washington Examiner reports that State Troopers have been overwhelmed by migrants trying to evade capture.

Migrants crossing illegally in West Texas wear camouflage and sometimes attach pieces of carpet to the bottom of their shoes to avoid leaving behind tracks.”

A DPS officer based in West Texas for 12 years says she has“personally never seen any numbers like we’ve been seeing. It’s definitely an increase of activity,” 

The Texas Department of Public Safety has assigned more than 1,000 officers since March to assist with border security.
