Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House, tweeted support of Democrat Rita Hart in Iowa’s Second Congressional District. Pelosi said voters in the second district have the opportunity to send a representative to the House with a track record of being on their side.
Hart, Pelosi tweeted, was added to #RedtoBlue.
But the second district has been blue since the 2006 election when Dave Loebsack won the seat.
State Sen. Mariannette Miller-Meeks is the Republican in the race. Loebsack is retiring after the first of the year.
