Texas Gov. Greg Abbott reportedly included Iowa City on a list of sanctuary cities he plans to bus illegal immigrants to, according to reports.

Abbott sent a bus of about 60 illegals to Chicago late Wednesday. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot said what Abbott is doing is “immoral, unpatriotic and defies the values of who we are as Americans.”

Other media reports reveal Gov. Kim Reynolds’ office said Iowa City will not be getting illegals bused in from the Lone Star State.

A community organizer for the Catholic Worker House called David Goodner reportedly told Iowa’s News Now that what Abbott is doing should not be happening.

“That being said Iowa City is a welcoming city and immigrants and refugees are welcome here, and Iowa City Catholic Worker stands ready to do whatever we can to make sure that any and all incoming immigrants to our city receive the food and shelter and protection that they need.”
