A Des Moines man was fired from his job on Monday because of an incident that took place Saturday during a Black Lives Matter protest.

It all started when Black Lives Matter protestors decided to stand on a street during their demonstration at a Des Moines Hy-Vee. The protestors were attempting to block traffic.

Here is more reaction to the driver’s decision to carefully proceed. To The Iowa Standard’s knowledge, there were no reports of injuries from this particular incident.

Black Lives Matter activists then outed the driver on social media.

On Sunday, Wyckoff acknowledged the situation.

Then, on Monday, the company announced it terminated the employee.

The Iowa Standard reached out to Wyckoff for more information, but the company refused comment.

Black Lives Matter Des Moines, as well as an individual with a display name of Police Are Domestic Terrorists, celebrated after Wyckoff sided with them.

Black Lives Matter Des Moines protestors shared the contact information for Wyckoff, which is (515) 285-3111 and the email address is [email protected].

The Iowa Standard has attempted to contact the former employee, but has not heard back yet.
