House File 2048, sponsored by Rep. Sandy Salmon, would prohibit contracts for the purchase, lease or rental of voting equipment from limiting the ability of an elected official to access information on, investigate or audit the voting equipment.

The Iowa Minuteman Civil Defense Corps registered in support of the bill.

The Iowa Chapter of Sierra Club, Polk County Board of Supervisors and League of Women Voters of Iowa are all registered undecided.
