Democrat State Sen. Sarah Trone Garriott called the Students First Act a form of “money laundering.”
“SF 159 is money laundering state funds in ‘personal accounts’ to side step civil rights protections and allow private schools to take taxpayer money and discriminate,” she tweeted.
Now, to be clear, private schools will not receive this money.
The money will be able to be accessed by parents who will be allowed to, gasp, decide what education system is best for their own child, gasp again for a dramatic effect.
The horror.
Money should follow the student, the student shouldn’t be forced to follow the money.
It isn’t a difficult concept to grasp.
The money can be used for a variety of purposes, with tuition at a private school being just one purpose.
