Earlier today we told you about a story from Long Beach Local News about a plane with almost 100 unaccompanied children that it reports took off from Long Beach, California and headed for Des Moines.
At the time of publishing, we were unsure of that claim.
We’re still not 100 percent positive — but we can report with certainty a World Atlantic flight did leave from Long Beach and did land in Des Moines on April 22. Records show Flight WL317 took off from Long Beach on April 22 at 4:34 p.m. local time. It landed in Des Moines at 9:28 p.m.
The same plane left Des Moines at 11:02 p.m. and arrived in Atlanta, Georgia at 1:35 a.m. local time.
Recent history of that aircraft includes the following flights:
March 22: Dallas to McAllen
March 22: McAllen to Dallas
March 23: Houston to Dallas
March 27: Houston to McAllen
March 28: San Diego to Phoenix
March 28: Phoenix to Houston
March 29: Houston to New York
March 30: New York to Houston
March 31: Houston to Port of Spain
Exactly who was on the plane is not yet known. Again, we are working with a number of folks on this story and will update when more information becomes available.
This is the path the flight took from Long Beach to Des Moines on April 22.
