The Iowa Liberty Network will be hosting its first Iowa Liberty Fest on Saturday, Sept. 16 in Johnston. The group, which is a Christian, nonpartisan, grassroots PAC seeking to perverse and restore liberty in Iowa, said it is focused on finding and supporting true constitutional conservatives to run for the statehouse. The event lasts from 1-7 p.m.
“This event will be focused on educating and uniting grassroots Iowans from across the state to empower them to get engaged at the local and state level,” an email from Iowa Liberty Network said. “Iowans will also meet and network with new candidates while listening to great entertainment and information from our guest speakers.”
Nationally known speakers include James O’Keefe, Steve Deace and Connor Boyack. The event will also feature plenty of Iowa speakers.
“It’s very clear that we need a strong statehouse to preserve our liberty from being eroded by the federal government, special interest lobby groups and state agencies that all seek to impose uniformity and control over Iowans’ lives,” the group said. “Currently, we have 14 legislators working together in the statehouse to protect our liberties, but candidates that run based on these principles are unfortunately not always supported by Iowa’s political parties or other organizations within our state. It’s time to start supporting these principled candidates directly and your help is critical in supporting those efforts.”
Iowa Liberty Network is staffed 100 percent by volunteers. A majority of the proceeds from the event will be used to fund campaigns of those who are vigorously supporting and defending the Constitution in the upcoming 2024 elections.
