A recent Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll found that a majority of Iowans approve of the job Gov. Kim Reynolds is doing, including 60 percent of parents with young children. Majorities of Iowans also approve of her handling of the COVID pandemic and the economy. The same poll also found that a plurality of Iowans approve of the Republican-dominated state legislature and think their state is headed in the right direction.

The contrast with Joe Biden and D.C. Democrats’ performance couldn’t be starker. Recent polls show that Biden’s approval rating is underwater not only in Iowa – where he has a 62 percent disapproval rate, according to a recent Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll – but across the country. Republicans now lead the generic congressional ballot. On his handling of the economy, a November Washington Post-ABC News poll found that just 39 percent of Americans approve of Biden.

It’s hardly a surprise. Reynolds and Iowa Republicans have been busy overseeing Iowa’s almost $1.24 billion budget surplus, income and property tax cuts, new protections against Biden’s unconstitutional mandates, and a Q2 GDP growth rate above the national growth rate. Meanwhile, Biden and Democrats have been responsible for 30-year record high inflation, a debilitating supply chain crisis, record gas prices , and a weaponized Justice Department going after parents.

Bottom Line: The results speak for themselves. Kim Reynolds and Iowa Republicans are delivering for Iowans. Joe Biden and Democrats aren’t.
