“Corporate Kim Reynolds announced today that she will run for re-election for Iowa’s governorship, but she can’t hide from her terrible record of hurting Iowa’s workers.

As Iowans, we value hard work and know good paying jobs help Iowa grow. But Governor Reynolds has failed us and fewer Iowans are working now than when she was first elected ten years ago.

We know that the Reynolds Workforce crisis was caused by her anti-labor agenda, and Iowans won’t be fooled. Reynolds has a history of attacking hard working families. Last summer, she called hardworking Iowans lazy and cut off our access to federal unemployment last year during an ongoing pandemic that cost thousands of Iowans their jobs, making it harder for parents to provide for their children.

This year, Reynolds has doubled down on her attacks against Iowa workers. Once again, she called hardworking families lazy in her Condition of the State address, and promised to cut our state unemployment benefits by over two months.

Iowans deserve a governor who values our families and does what’s right. By standing together and holding the greedy accountable, we can create an Iowa that’s good for all of us, not just the corporations that back Governor Reynolds.”
