Rio Grande Valley Sector agents arrested two Mara-Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang members and a migrant previously convicted of murder.

On Dec. 2, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents arrested a group of 21 migrants near Hidalgo. Record checks revealed one of the subjects, a Guatemalan national was previously arrested in 2009 for murder in New Jersey. He was subsequently found guilty and sentenced to nine years confinement and was removed from the United States.

The next day, Weslaco Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of five migrants near Hidalgo after they entered the United States illegally. During processing, record checks on a Salvadoran national revealed he is a MS-13 gang member.

Early morning, on Dec. 4, MCS agents arrested a group of 85 migrants south of La Joya and transported them to the station for processing. During questing, it was revealed a 28-year-old Salvadoran national is an active MS-13 gang member.

These criminal migrants and gang members will be added to the more than 300 already apprehended in the Rio Grande Valley this fiscal year.

All subjects were processed accordingly.
