Joe Biden’s pick for White House deputy budget director has claimed that taxpayer-funding of abortion is a matter of “racial justice.”

Shalanada Young noted that Biden has spoken in favor of Congress eliminating the Hyde Amendment, which prohibits taxpayer funding of abortion.

“Eliminating the Hyde Amendment is a matter of economic and racial justice because it most significantly impacts Medicaid recipients, who are low-income and more likely to be women of color,” Young said.

Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of the Susan B. Anthony List, called Young’s support for abortion “radical” and pointed out she is ignoring “the devastating toll of abortion on black communities.”

Abortion rates are four times higher than that of their white counterparts, Dannenfelser said.

“This isn’t justice — it is a profound injustice,” Dannenfelser said. “The fact is, the Hyde Amendment saves 60,000 lives every year.”
