Earlier this week The Iowa Standard told you about a Drag Kids program planned by Boise Pride. After national attention was given to the event, Boise Pride announced it made the “very difficult” decision to postpone the performance due to “increased safety concerns.”

Boise Pride claimed the “vast majority” of its sponsors and supporters voiced support for the program.

“We support the kids 1,000 percent and their choice to be themselves, stand in their truth and express themselves,” Boise Pride said. “They are brave, beautiful and deserve their chance to be in the spotlight, and we want to give that to them at a later date.”

Riley Burrows, who is listed as the co-producer and host of Drag Kids, said the decision was “extremely hard to make.”

According to reports, at least six major sponsors dropped their support. Those who dropped their support are reported to be:

*Zions Bank
*Idaho Power
*The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare
*Simplot
*Idaho Central Credit Union
*CapEd Credit Union

Christopher Rufo, who broke the story originally about the Drag Kids event, said the festival failed to provide any evidence for alleged “safety concerns.”

“This is a common technique when left-wing organizations get caught promoting something awful,” he wrote. “They scream ‘harassment’ rather than take responsibility for their actions. Such claims are often baseless.”
