Sarah Chambers has become a well-known name in Chicago. The area vice president and executive board member of the Chicago Teachers Union is being criticized for being a hypocrite.

Chambers has insisted it is unsafe for Chicago public schools to reopen due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But it is — or was, I guess — plenty safe for chambers to visit Puerto Rico and visit an island that has registered more than 110,000 COVID cases.

On Thursday, Chambers posted a photo to Instagram saying she was spending the last day of 2020 poolside.

“We have the whole pool to ourselves,” she wrote. “Then, we are going to old San Juan to get some yummy seafood mofongo!”

When her hypocrisy was highlighted, Chambers doubled down, letting everyone know she received four COVID tests before visiting Puerto Rico and wore two masks.

For what it is worth, the CDC says Americans should “avoid all travel to Puerto Rico” due to the island’s high levels of the virus.
