***Rumors are swirling Iowa about polling location closures and changes. We’ve contacted the county auditors in Iowa to find out what is actually happening in their county.***
Johnson County is going to have all 57 precincts open on election day, but as of Thursday was still looking for backup and replacement poll workers.
“Our biggest issue is party balance since our county leans strongly toward one party,” said Johnson County Auditor Travis Weipert.
Weipert said the only move within the past week has been to a larger space within the same building. If locations did change, it was mostly due to some polling places that didn’t want to host, were too small for social distancing or a couple that had construction, which Weipert said is normal.
