Christians in America are no doubt concerned about the trajectory of the country. On one hand, they have hope that Roe v. Wade could be undone — or significantly altered — in 2022. On the other hand, underaged biological females are allowed to go topless at aquatic facilities, students are asked for “preferred pronouns” and men are dominating female athletics.

Body parts are mere suggestions when it comes to which bathroom a kid in school should use. The “Catholic” President of the country has no problem allowing the murder of unborn babies.

And we haven’t even touched the fact that we’re coming off two years where some governments have shut down churches.

With 2022 being an election year, we’re going to hear we have to vote because this is the most important election of our lifetime and Republicans need to win in order to “save our country.”

Hate to be the bearer of bad news — but Republicans aren’t going to save this country. At best they’ll buy our country time.

But they aren’t going to save it.

Especially some of the “Republicans” who call themselves a Republican…but, that’s another conversation for another day.

I am not going to the into the history of it because for those who don’t already believe it, it simply will not matter. But there is an undeniable existence of God’s hand over the founding of this country. America has done more good for the rest of the world than any other nation in history. It has pretty much all the “tools” needed to be that “shining city on a hill.”

But the reality is we’re slipping. We are on shaky ground right now. I firmly believe there will come a time in this country when Democrats will attempt to make any biblical teaching on sexual orientation and gender identity “hate speech.” And that pastors will likely face prison and churches will face closure if they continue to preach the Bible.

And, unfortunately, Republicans aren’t going to be there to save them either. Because by that point, the prevailing winds of the culture are going to be blowing against them. And we know how quickly “Republicans” will cave on an issue when it is viewed as unpopular.

The Left has education. The Left has Big Tech. The Left has mainstream media. The Left has pop culture.

The Left pretty much has every institution except for two — the family and the church.

They’re certainly working at infiltrating both. And they need to in order to actually accomplish their purpose because the family and the church contain the one thing education, Big Tech, mainstream media and pop culture lack — Truth.

Nature’s laws, if you will.

And no matter how powerful those other institutions may be, they cannot prevail against Truth.

It doesn’t mean the Left isn’t going to try, though. And, if we’re being honest, right now they are succeeding.

But the good news is this battle is ongoing. This battle for the soul of the family and the soul of the church, if you will.

For years, decades, there has been this idea that Americans should keep their politics separate from their faith. As if there’s some verse in the Bible that says God wants all of your life — everything — except for your politics. As if God wants to be with us in everything, except the voting booth.

Again, forget the whole separation of church and state debate because, again, the point of this piece isn’t to convince the people who are 100 percent wrong that they’re wrong. The point of this is to spark some sort of passion inside of those of us who are right.

The culture will either follow the church or the church will follow the culture. I think it is fairly obvious what has happened the last 20 years or so.

America is in desperate need of a masculine Christianity that stands for Truth regardless of consequence. And it has to happen quickly. Time is of the essence.

Too much of the church has essentially been neutered. It has happened a few different ways:

  1. Christians have convinced themselves that, ultimately God is in control and nothing will happen that is outside of His control so there’s no reason to get involved politically.
  2. Christians have convinced themselves that they shouldn’t let politics get in the way of being “loving,” forgetting that love must be rooted in truth. And they’ve decided it is easier to love someone on their way to hell than guide them to some sort of repentance and correction.
  3. Fake Christians and Fake Christian churches have allowed leaders to defend things that simply go against the most basic teachings of Christ. It is one thing to struggle individually with sin, but quite another to publicly advocate for the acceptance if not the outright celebration of sin.

But there remains a fourth camp of Christians that gets it. That this country didn’t become the greatest nation in history by pure luck. And it isn’t going to remain the envy of the world by abandoning what made it unique to begin with.

The future of America falls on the same shoulders it was founded upon; God-fearing men.

Did you know one of the first acts of Congress in 1782 was authorizing the first printing of the Bible in North America?

It turns out, after the boycotts of British goods began, there was a shortage of Bibles. Congress discussed importing Bibles from Scotland or Holland as early as 1777 — but those plans never materialized.

A Pennsylvania publisher wrote Congress in 1781 requesting they review and authorize a printing of the Bible he was working on. Robert Aitken asked Congress to appoint and authorize him to print as many Bibles as necessary to meet the needs of Americans.

Congress passed a resolution that said:

“Whereupon,
RESOLVED,
THAT the United States in Congress assembled highly approve the pious and laudable undertaking of Mr. Aitken, as subservient to the interest of religion, as well as an instance of the progress of arts in this country, and being satisfied from the above report of his care and accuracy in the execution of the work, they recommend this edition of the Bible to the inhabitants of the United States, and hereby authorize him to publish this Recommendation in the manner he shall think proper.”

Wow. Isn’t it crazy how people less than two decades removed from the founding of the country could so blatantly violate that separation of church and state thing? Almost makes you wonder if it’s really a thing…

The reality is most of America’s Founders were orthodox. Orthodox Christians were at every step of the birth of America.

America is in need of saving. But politicians aren’t going to do it. If America is saved — IF — it is going to be due to the fact churches rose to the challenge. Church members woke up and left their apathetic, apolitical churches that go along to get along and keep the green flowing in the collection plate.

And those true Christians who desperately want at least a similar version of today’s America available for tomorrow’s Americans will find real men of God who are 100 percent called to lead a church into spiritual battle.

Because that is what this is. America can’t be saved by politicians because America is not in a political war; it is in a spiritual war.

Let’s hope that in this New Year, Christians wake up and join a body of believers willing to put on the armor of God and fight for Truth rather than run and hide while clamoring about love, love, love on the way to wave the white flag and surrender the Truth.
