Last Wednesday Senate President Jake Chapman pointed out that the Iowa DNR was holding its annual gun sale in Nebraska.

“It is incredibly disappointing to see that rather than using an Iowa auctioneer and selling the guns in Iowa, DNR opted to sell these guns in Nebraska,” Chapman said. “Begs the question…is this an attempt to move guns out of Iowa? We have had issues raised in the past regarding these auctions but this is a new one!”

By Thursday morning Chapman had posted he reached out to the DNR and received word the sale would be moved to Iowa.

On Monday, the DNR made it official.

The sale will take place at the Jacobson Exhibition Center on the Iowa State Fairgrounds. It is scheduled for April 10.

Items up for auction include firearms, bows, gun barrels and scopes. Items are sold “as is.” The list of items for sale can be found here.

Online bidding is available in addition to traditional onsite bidding. Buyers can pre-register through Auction Solutions Inc.
