Less than one month after President Joe Biden’s horribly divisive primetime speech against “MAGA Republicans,” an 18-year-old has been allegedly murdered for his conservative politics.

According to reports, 41-year-old Shannon Brandt told police he intentionally hit 18-year-old Cayler Ellingson who Brandt thought was “part of a Republican extremist group.”

Brandt initially fled the scene, but returned and called 9-1-1. According to court documents, he told the dispatcher that Ellingson was part of a Republican extremist group and the two engaged in a political argument.

The investigation continues while the media remains largely silent on the crime. According to Tom Bevan, CBS News did a 400-word write-up of the incident and never mentioned Brandt told police he thought the teenager was a Republican “political extremist.”

Earlier this month, Biden said that “MAGA Republicans” spread “fear and lies” and are committed to “destroying American democracy.”

Biden also labeled “MAGA Republicans” “semi-fascists.”

Despite the circumstances surrounding this incident, Brandt was released on $50,000 bail.

We will continue to monitor this incident.
