To the Hon. Molly Donahue.

In the last couple of weeks I have heard firsthand from mothers in Pella concerned that girls are showering in the boys’ locker room. I’ve also heard firsthand of counselors who say when a student comes to them and says I want to change my gender 90% of them can’t tell the counselor why. I’ve also have talked to a superintendent who told me it makes him sick to his stomach that a boy would think it’s ok to accept an award in a competition that he was so physically superior to the girl that the girls had no chance to beat him.

Is this what we want men to become? Are we teaching young males that I don’t have to restrain myself, I don’t need to consider I’m bigger and stronger than someone else. I will make my own rules? It’s ok to ignore physical advantage while I’m struggling to search for identity after being indoctrinated and coerced into believing I could be something other than I really am?  What kind of a young man can stand on an awards podium with other girls knowing he cheated them?

I know you don’t want to see this taught to a generation of young males who will use this outside of sports and make their own rules instead of governing themselves with discretion.

Rep. Wheeler and the supporters of the Transgender Sports bill are dealing with facts. To suggest it’s a racial slur like you are suggesting is an insult to everyone who understands what real discrimination is during Black History Month.
