A new national phone and online survey from Rasmussen Reports shows 78 percent of likely U.S. voters said it is at least somewhat important schools teach traditional values of Western civilization. Fifty-two percent of voters said it is very important.
These numbers are virtually unchanged according to Rasmussen Reports from four years ago and are in line with surveys going back to 2013.
Fourteen percent of voters said they do not think it is important to teach traditional Western values. Four percent said it is not at all important.
Despite the desire for schools to teach these values, only 29 percent of voters believe most public schools do a good job of teaching the traditional values of Western civilization. Forty-seven percent disagree and do not think schools do a good job. Twenty-four percent are unsure.
