Majority of voters reject anti-American sentiments shared by Democrat Omar

Most Americans reject the anti-American beliefs and words of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey.

Sixty-one percent of likely U.S. voters disagree with Omar’s assessment comparing the U.S. to Hamas and the Taliban, saying American has committed “crimes against humanity” and “unthinkable atrocities.”

Twenty-four percent agree with Omar while 15 percent are not sure.

Fifty percent of voters said they would support efforts to censure Omar. Thirty-five percent would not support such a move while 15 percent are unsure.

Omar is not popular. Only 34 percent of voters have a favorable impression of her, which includes 11 percent who hold a very favorable view. Fifty percent of voters have an unfavorable view, which includes 38 percent who have a very unfavorable view.
