Republicans and Independents would stay and fight for America’s freedoms if they were in the shoes of the Ukrainians, but not all Americans would do the same.

A recent Quinnipiac University Poll showed 55 percent of those polled would stay and fight while 38 percent said they’d leave. Sixty-eight percent of Republicans and 57 percent of Independents said they’d stay and fight, but most Democrats (52 percent) said they would flee. Only 40 percent of Democrats said they’d defend the homeland.

Just 45 percent of the youngest adults (18-34 years old) said they’d remain in the U.S. to fight. Two-thirds (66 percent) of those 50-64 said they’d stay and fight.
