According to NBC, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer announced plans to retire at the end of the current term. Breyer, who joined the Supreme Court in 1994 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton, will provide President Joe Biden with an opportunity to nominate his first Supreme Court justice.

At 83 years old, Breyer is the oldest member of the court. And, as the mainstream media is constantly reminding everyone, Biden promised during the campaign he would nominate a black woman to the Supreme Court.

NBC said Biden is likely to act quickly so Breyer’s successor is ready for the Oct. 3 date when the next term begins.
