In case you missed it, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced that Iowa has been awarded an additional $44 million in their fight against COVID-19.

The funds will provide assistance to the work already being done by Governor Kim Reynolds’ administration – allowing them to purchase more “personal protective equipment” such as masks, face shields, thermometers, respirators, and ventilators for those throughout the state who are on the front lines battling this pandemic.

In addition to approving request for a major disaster declaration within days, Iowa is on track to receive $1.25 billion in aid after the President signed the CARES Act, and Friday marked the first day that small businesses in the Hawkeye State were able to apply for a loan through the Paycheck Protection Program to keep their doors open and employees on payroll.

Bottom Line: President Trump’s top priority is the health, safety, and security of all Americans. The Trump Administration and our leaders in Iowa are committed to defeating coronavirus and putting Iowans first.
