Lara Trump, President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, was able to land a few blows against the 2020 Democrat field on Thursday at the Women For Trump bus tour stop in Sioux City. More than 200 people attended the 10 a.m. event despite sub-zero temps.
“OK guys, let’s just take a second,” Lara started when asked about the Democrat field. “Who among these Democrats do they really think can beat President Trump? I mean, are they serious with this group? This is so scary actually what we see manifesting.”
While the Democrat debates are good for putting restless kids to sleep — and anyone else who might watch — she said the ideas are dangerous.
“Truly the things that they are proposing for this country would ruin and bankrupt the United States of America,” Lara said. “This country would be unrecognizable as it has stood from its founding.
“You have Democrats proposing open borders, anti-law enforcement, the Party of late-term abortion, high taxes, socialism. You contrast that with President Donald Trump, who is about the American worker, the American family and the American dream. The differences couldn’t be more stark.”
President Trump’s first three years in office, Lara said, have been historic.
“And something that I don’t know if we’ll ever be lucky enough to see again in this country,” she said. “The American dream is back under President Donald Trump. The Democrats’ ideas I think are so far-fetched and so far left and so radical to many people in this country that we think it’s going to be a clear choice as we head into November.”
But, Lara said high turnout is needed to achieve the campaign’s goals.
“In case they cheat,” Lara started. “They won’t. They won’t do that of course. But, if they were to do something like that, listen, we have to come out in such strong force that they cannot deny the results of this election. We want a landslide victory like they’ve never seen.”
