The University of Iowa football team had to pause its football game late in the first half Saturday as Northwestern students took to the field to protest.
With less than one minute remaining before halftime, about a half dozen or so students made it to the field.
As you can see, it appears one of the banners says “Abolish NUPD. Invest in black lives.”
Security did not appear to be in any hurry to remove the students from the field. Here is some of the reaction from the Twitter universe.

Lmao some Northwestern students stormed the field to protest. Ryan Field apparently has no security tonight, so they just waited until the protesters got bored and left

I care about this thing deeply, how do I spread the word? I got it, I'll take a crayon to a bed sheet and hold it up at a poorly attended Northwestern football game.

Protestors just rushed the field
Signs read “stop funding the war on Palestine” and “Abolish NUPD. Invest in Black Lives.” #Northwestern pic.twitter.com/XCbbKMRSiT

I have no idea what any of those signs say so I assume it's a demonstration against the ineffectiveness of Tide Stain Removal pens. #GoHawks #Northwestern
