Rasmussen Reports released the results of a national phone and online survey that spells trouble for President Joe Biden. Less than one-third of voters think it would be a good idea for Biden to run for another term.
In a potential rematch against President Donald J. Trump, he’d lose by double digits.
Only 30 percent of likely U.S. voters said it would be a good idea for Biden to run for re-election. Fifty-six percent said it would be a bad idea.
Forty-one percent of those same likely voters said it would be a good idea for Trump to run once again, while 49 percent said it would be a bad idea.
Though the majority of voters wouldn’t prefer a Trump-Biden repeat, 45 percent of those surveyed said they’d choose Trump. Only 32 percent said they’d vote for Biden. A whopping 17 percent said they’d vote for someone else.
Interestingly, 69 percent of those who said they voted for Biden last year would do so again. Eight percent of Biden’s 2020 voters said they’d switch to Trump. Eighty-three percent of those who voted for Trump last time would do so again.
Trump would receive 76 percent of the vote from Republicans, 47 percent from unaffiliated voters and 15 percent from Democrats.
Biden would receive 68 percent from Democrats, 20 percent from unaffiliated voters and eight percent from Republicans.
Among just Democrats, 55 percent said Biden running for re-election would be a good idea.
Unaffiliated voters expressed their disdain for Biden routinely. Forty-eight percent of those voters said it would be a good idea for another Trump run. Just 20 percent said it’d be a good idea for Biden to run.
