Build Back Better, a bill that nearly every House Democrat voted for, could double childcare costs for middle-class families according to multiple nonpartisan and left-leaning analyses.

According to Casey Mulligan, a professor of economics at the University of Chicago, millions of working parents “could see their child-care costs double. The new program would act like a $20,000 to $30,000 annual tax on middle-income families.”

And according to the People’s Policy Project (PPP), a left-leaning think tank, Democrats’ childcare plan will “spike [childcare] prices for the middle class by $13,000.”

NRCC Comment: “Nearly every House Democrat voted to impose a toddler tax on middle class families. Build Back Better would only make things more expensive for families that are already struggling with the inflation crisis Democrats caused.” – NRCC Spokesman Mike Berg
