On Monday, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Oversight and Accountability Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) sent aletterto Attorney General Merrick Garland reiterating the Committees’ subpoenas for the set of material in the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) possession relating to Special Counsel Robert K. Hur’s investigation of President Joe Biden’s “willful” mishandling of classified documents.
The Committees are specifically seeking the audio recordings of Special Counsel Hur’s interviews with President Biden and the transcript and audio recordings of Special Counsel Hur’s interviews with Mark Zwonitzer, President Biden’s ghostwriter. If DOJ continues to withhold additional material responsive to the Committees’ subpoenas, the Committees will consider taking further action, such as the invocation of contempt of Congress proceedings.
