On Saturday July 13, 2024, former president Donald Trump was shot and wounded by a bullet passing through the edge of his ear in an assassination attempt to kill him during a political rally in Pennsylvania. One innocent person in the crowd was tragically killed and two were also critically injured during the same shooting before the assassin was killed by law enforcement. As a result of this national tragedy and unprecedented political violence, the NACL has issued a national call for a day of fasting and prayer to be observed every Tuesday through Election Day November 5, 2024.
“We are saddened by the assassination attempt on President Donald Trump. We are praying for the families of the person killed and those who were injured during the shooting, and we are praying for the safety of Donald Trump and all our political leaders throughout the country,” said Jason Rapert, founder and president of the NACL. “We ask American citizens, churches, and faith leaders to join us in “An Appeal To Heaven”, observing a day of fasting and prayer every Tuesday beginning July 16, 2024, right up through Election Day, “ said Rapert.
