A new report shows home prices soared to another record high in June — and there is little relief in sight as Americans face “the most unaffordable housing market in history.”
That’s no comfort to the millions of Americans for whom the American Dream of homeownership has been rendered completely unattainable in Kamala’s economy:
- The cost of homeownership is at its highest in three decades — with the median housing payment increasing by nearly $1,000/month and overall housing costs up nearly 50% since Kamala took office.
- The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate is around 6.5% — a 135% jump since President Trump left office (2.77%).
- The median home sales price was $412,300 in the second quarter of 2024 — a 22% jump since President Trump left office ($338,600 in the final quarter of 2020).
- Americans need a six-figure salary to afford the typical home in nearly half of all U.S. states — a 50% jump over the last four years.
- Almost half of all renters say they simply cannot afford to buy a home in Kamala’s economy.
Meanwhile, economists warn Kamala’s so-called housing “assistance” plan would only worsen the affordability crisis by squeezing demand and causing prices to rise even more.
Of course, the Radical Left’s deranged policies — environmental regulations and open borders chief among them — are some of the biggest drivers around housing unaffordability.
When President Trump left office, mortgage rates were low and housing was affordable. Kamala took office and brought the American Dream to the brink of existence — and now she wants to finish the job of destroying it altogether.
