U.S. Senator Roger Marshall, M.D. joined Fox & Friends on Fox News to discuss the launch of the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Caucus. As leader of the MAHA Caucus, Senator Marshall will partner with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President Trump’s nominee for Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) Secretary, to focus on nutrition, access to affordable, high-quality-nutrient-dense foods, improving primary care, and addressing the root causes of chronic diseases.

Senator Marshall, a physician who practiced medicine for over 25 years, met with Mr. Kennedy earlier this week to discuss his nomination to lead the HHS. Senator Marshall endorsed Mr. Kennedy’s candidacy following the meeting.

Highlights from Senator Marshall’s interview include:

“My grandma always said that if you have your health, you have everything – and right now, America does not have their health. You think about it, 60% of Americans have a chronic disease, 20% of our kids are on some type of medication. Let’s put air beneath RFK Jr.’s dream – and this is my dream, too.”

“Let’s Make America Healthy Again – and I think that starts with food as medicine. It starts with a healthy diet, it starts with declaring war on chronic diseases. We don’t know why we have this high incidence of chronic disease. You know, is it environmental toxins? Is it because half of our food is from packages of some sort, that it’s processed? We don’t know if it’s our biome. Is it because we’ve given kids too many antibiotics at a young age? So let’s figure out what’s causing it. Let’s declare war on chronic diseases.”

“I want to do the right thing. There’s a lot of us up here that aren’t here for the money or the fame – we’re trying to do the right thing. Again, committed as a physician here for 30 years trying to work on this. I sat down with RFK Jr, and he is absolutely committed to doing this, and I think there’s so many simple things that we can do. We can reduce the salt and the sugar in packaged food for starters. Half of our calories are from these processed foods, so there are lots of things we can do without making food prices even higher.
