The House and Senate have each introduced the Governor’s education reform package, HSB 1 and SSB 1022 respectively. This bill creates a universal ESA within three years, and once fully implemented, will include incoming kindergarteners, those switching to private school from public school, and all current families!

The Iowa Association of Christian Schools fully supports this bill and we need your help!

We are primarily interested in Division II starting on page one of the bill, which would start with kindergarteners, switchers, and lower income families already in our schools and ramp up to include all current families as the program rolls out. This is a bold, aggressive roll-out that respects the role of parents and the value of every child reaching his/her full potential. The bill also has some great reforms and flexibilities for public schools throughout the rest of the legislation.

We encourage you to contact your state Senator and Representative today and ask for support for this legislation as it’s written! We have included a sample message and a blank box for you to put, in your own words and from your own experience, your support for this bill. Remember to keep your comments positive. Make sure your words work together with the suggested language below, which is also editable. Thank you for your help!
