On Friday, America First Works (AFW) issued the following statement supporting Senate Bill 4-C: Independent Special Districts.

By voting to terminate Walt Disney World’s Reedy Creek Improvement District, the Florida Legislature is sending a strong signal that the state of Florida is governed by the will of the people and not the Leftist ideologies of a few corporate executives in California. Out-of-touch corporate executives everywhere should think twice before trying to come between parents and their children.

AFW supports this effort by the Florida Legislature and Governor Ron DeSantis to defend the values of Floridians and eliminate special privileges for corporations that put them beyond the reach of local voters.

Public companies have a fiduciary responsibility to put the interests of their shareholders ahead of the personal interests and projects of their executives. In this case, Disney allows its employees in California to lead attacks on Floridians who do not share their novel and anti-American views. We commend Florida’s elected leaders who defended Florida and the interest of all Americans.
