The American Library Association is celebrating Pride Month with “Rainbow Book Month,” a nationwide “celebration of the authors and writings that reflect the lives and experiences of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, pansexual, genderqueer, queer, intersex, agender and asexual community.”
The ALA has a template for a letter to the editor of local papers to promote the local library as “no longer just a place for books,” but a “trusted resources that transforms lives through fostering community, understanding and access to the very best in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, pansexual, genderqueer, queer, intersex, agender and asexual literature.”
There’s also a document helping libraries respond to Drag Queen Story Hour events.
