According to a new Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey, just 42 percent of Americans rate the media’s COVID-19 pandemic coverage as excellent or good.
Many Americans are concerned about the accuracy of reporting on vaccine safety.
Just 14 percent of American adults said the media coverage of COVID was excellent. Twenty-eight percent said it has been good.
It’s an eight-point drop from December.
Twenty-nine percent said the media is doing a poor job — that number has not changed since December.
However, the number of Americans who think the media is exaggerating the COVID threat has increased from 38 percent in December to 44 percent now.
In December, 38 percent thought the media was exaggerating while 52 percent did not think they were exaggerating. Now it’s even at 44 percent.
Thirty-eight percent of Americans do not think the media is reporting accurately about the safety and effectiveness of the vaccines. Forty-six percent believe it is accurate while 16 percent are not sure.
