I write today as a 77-year-old Catholic. My life in the church includes time as an altar boy, church organist, former choir director, father of two children, and a happy 52-year marriage.

As a patriotic, conservative Republican I’ve always been confused and concerned about how any follower of Jesus Christ can vote for Democrat candidates for any office – particularly on the State and national levels.

In my lifetime I’ve observed Catholic leadership praise the well-known adulterers’ John and Bobby Kennedy and brother Teddy – another adulterer responsible for the drowning death of a young woman and promoter of the Democrat abortion agenda. Now we see the disgraceful endorsement of abortion and infanticide by the alleged Catholic Pelosi and the mentally and morally challenged President Biden.

Add to this the blatant disregard of the law by Catholic Charities as they participate in the invasion of our sovereign borders by illegal immigrants from throughout the world.

Some church leaders will site “compassion” and the need to treat these lawbreakers as “children of God.” They fail to consider the human trafficking, frequent rape of minors, and the drug smuggling that has been an integral and inseparable part of this invasion. They provide food and housing for these, while our own poor citizens and elderly, and thousands of veterans who risked their lives struggle to survive.

I have had great friendships with many deceased parish priests and deep respect for long passed religious sisters who provided me with a wonderful elementary and secondary education. Yet, many of these consistently voted for Democrat candidates by siting “my vote is based on more than one issue.”

Please tell me what is more important than the issue of human life?

The Democrat party endorses the placement of books into school libraries that not long ago would be considered a “mortal sin” to read.

As a Catholic, I am not alone in my disgust with the failure of church hierarchy from the Pope to most Cardinals and Archbishops for their failure to admonish Democrat leadership for these assaults on basic Christianity.

To use the oft-quoted expression, “What would Jesus do?”

I believe he would do as he did in the Temple in Jerusalem.

Who will be brave enough to take a public stand? Those who have in the past have been unjustly “relived of their duties” or “defrocked!

(Proverbs 6:16-19)

There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
