Last week, the “Unity Task Force” convened by presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) released a 110-page list of policy recommendations for the Democratic Party’s 2020 platform.
Included among the many far-left priorities called for by the document are a number of sweeping social policy changes, such as:
- Cutting off all federal funding for educational institutions which decline to compromise their traditional religious beliefs and morals;
- Reinstating the Obama-era guidance coercing schools into allowing biological males into women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports teams;
- Eliminating conscience protections for health care providers, forcing them to adhere to LGBT ideology even if it conflicts with their medical judgment; and
- Requiring tax dollars to pay for coverage of sex-change procedures.
In response, Terry Schilling, executive director of American Principles Project, released the following statement blasting the task force recommendations:
“This document explodes once and for all the myth of the ‘moderate’ Joe Biden. While Biden’s campaign and media allies may continue to try to portray him as a centrist, we should be thankful that Democrats have finally exposed their true 2020 agenda. And it is frightening.
“Every American needs to know that under a Joe Biden administration: Christian schools will be mandated to employ atheist teachers, kindergartners will be exposed to drag queens, girl student athletes will be forced to compete against biological males, and workers’ hard-earned money will be taxed in order to pay for sex changes for minors.
“This is who the Democratic Party is. This is how they will govern. The 2020 election will truly be a time for choosing, and we intend to make sure voters understand the stakes.”
