 U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to Del Rio Sector recently arrested two convicted sex offenders shortly after they illegally entered the United States near Eagle Pass.

On Jan. 24, agents assigned to Del Rio Sector’s Special Operations Detachment apprehended a Honduran national. During processing, record checks revealed the migrant was previously convicted of indecent liberties with child in Charlotte, North Carolina and sentenced to 13 to 25 months of confinement. The man was most recently removed from the United States in 2018.

On Jan. 27, agents assigned to Eagle Pass Station apprehended a Mexican national. During processing, record checks revealed the subject was previously convicted of sexual assault in Houston and sentenced to two years of confinement. He was most recently removed from the United States in 2021.

All subjects are processed in accordance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection policies.
