Rio Grande Valley Sector Border Patrol (RGV) agents arrested three gang members and two migrants previously convicted of sexual assault crimes. An additional migrant was apprehended and found to have an active arrest warrant from Utah, also for a sex crime.
On Dec. 13, McAllen Border Patrol Station (MCS) agents apprehended a Dominican Republic national whose record checks revealed he was convicted and sentenced to two years’ incarceration for strongarm rape in Massachusetts in 2017. He was subsequently removed from the United States.
Also on Dec. 13, Harlingen Border Patrol Station agents apprehended a group of five migrants from El Salvador. Record checks on a 34 year old male, revealed he was sentenced to 10 years’ probation for sexual abuse of an individual less than 11 years old in Suffolk County, New York, in 2005. The same year, he was sentenced to 30 days’ confinement for being in possession of a forged instrument. In 2019, he was sentenced to 14 months’ incarceration for being unlawfully in the U.S. after being deported.
Recently, MCS agents also apprehended two El Salvadoran Mara-Salvatrucha gang members, one of them was a female apprehended in a group of 65 migrants, and a Salvadoran 18th Street gang member. Additionally, agents encountered a 36 year old Mexican national with a warrant of arrest for aggravated sexual abuse of a child who will be extradited to Ogden, Utah.
All subjects were processed accordingly.
