House Study Bill 659 was proposed by Human Resources chair Rep. Shannon Lundgren. It’s an act authorizing school physical for preschoolers to be performed by chiropractors. The legislation is in subcommittee today.

The bill requires that the Department of Human Services amend administrative rules regarding health and safety policies for child care centers to authorize chiropractors, in addition to licensed medical doctors, doctors of osteopathy, physician assistants and advanced registered nurse practitioners to sign an admission physical examination report for a child five and younger not enrolled in kindergarten who is attending the child care center.
