Senate Study Bill 3107 will be heard today in a subcommittee meeting. The bill will raise the speed limit in the state of Iowa.
The speed limit would increase on highways that are part of the interstate road system to 75 miles an hour. On non-interstate highways that are part of the commercial and industrial highway network, the speed limit would be increased to 70 miles an hour.
The bill was proposed by Senate Transportation Chair Waylon Brown.
The Iowa Department of Public Safety is registered against the bill.
