There is a growing divide between Republicans who are fully supportive of President Donald J. Trump’s quest for election integrity and Republicans who believe Trump should give up his challenges.

Dan Bongino, a leading conservative voice, weighed in on the issue.

“Totally ‘unsurprising’ that some insiders at the ‘Republican’ National Committee are trying to undermine the POTUS in these critical legal fights,” Bongino said. “Never forget the golden rule: many Republicans are really Democrats, but NO Democrats are really Republicans.”

Whether one believes that voter fraud determined the winner of the 2020 election should be irrelevant. Everyone should agree that Americans deserve to have full confidence in the results of the 2020 election.

As is, there is little reason to trust those results as too many circumstantial numbers do not add up. Not only that, but there are countless claims of election observers and others that must be investigated.

Yet there are Republicans more than eager, it seems, to show President Trump the door.

Honestly, it reminds me a little bit of how eager some Republicans were to get rid of Congressman Steve King here in Iowa.

I don’t believe King is a racist, white supremacist, much like I do not believe President Trump is a racist, white supremacist.

I haven’t asked Congressman King about it, but I’m sure that it isn’t the attacks launched against him by Democrats that he’ll remember most, rather it will be the Republicans who knifed him in the back when the opportunity presented itself.

Like him or hate him, King was as much his own person as any person in Congress. I think the same could be said of President Trump.

Neither would be controlled by party leaders.

And because of that, for some Republicans, it created too much of a liability.

Most Republicans rallied around President Trump and enthusiastically supported him in the 2020 campaign. However, I said all along, many of those Republicans were only supporting him because it was good for them. And if it were up to them, they would not have to rally around him.

We’ll see what happens in the coming days and weeks.

But one thing is certain, conservatives will not forget which fellow conservatives stand for justice and for President Trump and which “Republicans” throw him under the bus.
