Seven-term incumbent Charles Grassley has a primary opponent challenger, freedom-fighting conservative from the Iowa State Senate — Jim Carlin. With the June 7 primary approaching fast, the Carlin campaign is yet again requesting a debate.

“We had reached out for a debate earlier in the campaign season, and Grassley said he would consider it after obtaining signatures and filing was over,” Carlin said. “Well, we filed with well over 11,000 signatures and our campaign has incredible momentum. It’s time for Grassley to face the music and let the people hear from both of us.”

Carlin is an America First candidate with extensive experience in Iowa politics and an impressive conservative legislative record to back it up. He, along with Senators Rick Bertrand, Brad Zaun and Jake Chapman aggressively advocated for and obtained passage of the Heartbeat Bill that 14 other states went on to adopt. He has been a leader in medical freedom, tax relief for seniors, looking after Iowa’s veterans, keeping Iowa schools safe, sound fiscal policies and more.

Carlin has criticized Grassley for his poor voting record, including votes to certify the 2020 election, pass Biden’s massive government spending bill, defund construction of the border wall and confirm disastrous cabinet picks such as Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, Attorney General Merrick Garland and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.

“Iowans aren’t happy about these votes either,” Carlin said. “My campaign is simply about putting the truth in front of voters and letting them decide who aligns with their values. It’s time to have a debate and give Iowans that opportunity.”
