On Tuesday morning I called the City of Des Moines to find out if the signs plastered on some poles in Des Moines were approved by the city.
The signs read:
“DSM Community Safety Hotline
Active Jan. 16-27
Armed protests are planned for the Capitol from Jan. 17-20. Distance yourself from known MAGA and far-right supporters. Travel in parties of two or more when possible.
If you need travel assistance or support during this time call or text (515) 850-2395
If you witness white supremacist activity, call or text (515) 850-2395.
We keep us safe.
Email [email protected] to volunteer.”
The City of Des Moines said if they are provided locations of the flyers, they will remove them. They do not have permission to be on utility poles and are not allowed.
