Failed former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton told CNN over the weekend that the government should be cracking down on social media.
Clinton told Michael Smerconish the government should exercise more control over social media. If platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok don’t moderate and monitor content, Clinton said “we lose total control.”
Clinton praised California and New York for taking action on social media, but said Congress has failed and national action is needed. She called for the repeal of Section 230, which provides immunity to Big Tech companies.
“Regulation” is necessary for the use of social media. Clinton said she is happy to see schools collect phones.
