Brenda Bock, the coroner in Grand County (Colorado), said that she has personally witnessed obvious gunshot fatalities being classified as COVID deaths.
“These two people had tested positive for COVID, but that’s not what killed them,” she told KCNC. “A gunshot wound is what killed them.”
According to Bock, both cases were autopsied and the cause of death was listed as blunt-force injuries due to a gunshot wound.
“Nowhere did the pathologist say COVID was the cause of death,” Bock said. “It’s absurd that they would even put that on there.”
The Colorado Health Department said it was simply following federal protocols and listing anyone who had tested positive for the disease as a COVID fatality — regardless of what actually killed the person.
