U.S. Senator Steve Daines in honor of Flag Day, continued his years-long fight to protect the American flag by calling on Congress to pass his constitutional amendment to criminalize its physical desecration.

“The American flag is recognized across the world as a symbol of hope and freedom, and it reminds us of the great sacrifices that American heroes have made underneath the Stars and the Stripes,” said Daines. “This year in honor of Flag Day, I’m calling on Congress to pass my constitutional amendment to prohibit the physical desecration of the American flag.”

Daines led the effort in the 115th, 116th, 117th and 118th Congresses. He commemorated Flag Day in 2018 by highlighting his constitutional amendment to prohibit burning the U.S. flag.
