On Thursday morning, the House Education & Workforce Committee passed two bills to defend parental rights and women’s sports: H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023, and H.R. 5, the Parents Bill of Rights Act.
Congresswoman Mary Miller (R-IL) voted in favor of both pieces of legislation and released the following statement:
“On day one, President Biden signed an Executive Order to destroy Title IX and force young girls to share locker rooms with 18-year-old men,” Miller said. “The Biden Administration also used the FBI, the world’s most powerful law enforcement agency, to silence and intimidate parents for showing up at school board meetings to oppose the Radical Left Agenda.
“The Parents Bill of Rights Act includes two provisions I drafted to protect children’s privacy from Big Tech and affirm a parent’s right to opt their children out of taking surveys regarding sexual orientation, transgender ideology, and woke politics.”
